- If you’re travelling in the morning, don’t miss the chance to pause at picturesque waterfalls along the way—perfect for photos and soaking in the natural beauty.
- Upon arrival in Munnar, unwind with a refreshing evening tea amid lush tea plantations, setting the stage for a memorable experience in this enchanting hill station.

Munnar Accommodation: To elevate your Munnar experience, book a stay nestled within the tea estates. If that’s unavailable, opt for a hotel with rooms that provide sweeping views of the tea plantations, allowing you to fully embrace the serene beauty of this iconic landscape.
Day 2: Scenic Drives & Exploration of Munnar’s Natural Gems
- Start your day with a hearty breakfast before setting out on the picturesque Munnar-Udumalpet Road. This beautiful route includes stops at Eravikulam National Park, where you can encounter wildlife and enjoy stunning landscapes, as well as charming waterfalls, lush tea and spice plantations, and the unique Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its sandalwood trees. The drive covers about 120 km from Munnar, taking approximately 3 hours, with extra time needed to fully experience Eravikulam National Park.
- To make the most of your visit, it’s best to book your Eravikulam National Park tickets in advance via the official website.
- If you complete the Munnar-Udumalpet Road drive before 3:30 PM, consider heading to the Munnar Top Station Highway. This scenic drive offers opportunities to explore key attractions, including the Tea Plantations Photo Point, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Dam, and the Ripple Tea Factory. The round trip covers 50 km from central Munnar and takes around 2 hours, excluding time spent at each stop for photos and exploration.
Day 3: Journey Through Munnar’s Scenic Wonders
- Today promises to be one of the most breathtaking drives of your trip, so start early to allow for plenty of stops and immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes.
- After breakfast, set out along the Kochi-Madurai Road, where you’ll encounter captivating viewpoints just beyond Munnar. Highlights include Signal Point, Skyfall Viewpoint, Lockhart View Point, and the misty Lockhart Gap, especially enchanting in December. Pause at Chinnakanal Waterfalls, take in the views from Anayirangal View Point, and perhaps enjoy a peaceful boat ride at the Elephant Abode Boating Center. Each stop offers unique scenery to savor.
- For those looking to extend the drive, continue up to Aduvizhanthan. On your way back, consider stopping at Pooppara for lunch, where you’ll find various dining options. If you’re driving a self-rented Zoom car with a white plate, you can venture into Tamil Nadu without a permit and visit the scenic Bodimettu View Point, just 2.6 km from Aduvizhanthan. Altogether, this round-trip from Munnar covers about 86 km, with 2.5 to 3 hours of driving time, plus additional time for stops and exploration.
Day 4: Farewell to Kerala
- On your final morning in Kerala, take a moment to soak in the peaceful views of the tea plantations one last time. After breakfast, it’s time to head back to Kochi Airport, approximately 110 km away, a scenic 3.5-hour drive.
- If you’d like, you can stop at a spice garden on your way to the airport for an insightful 2.5-hour visit to learn about local spices. Keep in mind that the gardens often include a promotional segment on their products, so if you’re short on time, you may wish to skip this part and continue to the airport to stay on schedule.
- Kochi Airport is smaller than most major city airports, so generally, 1 hour is sufficient for check-in and security. To ensure a smooth journey, we recommend leaving Munnar at least 8 hours before your flight. This timing includes the 3.5-hour drive, 1 hour for airport check-in, 1 hour for a meal break, and an additional 2.5 hours if you plan to visit a spice garden.
- We suggest booking an evening return flight to allow ample time for travel and any final stops along the way. Safe travels!
